The maintenance of the Hernando Beach Entranceway Sign.

Recently the Coastal Hernando Business Association has taken on the responsibility for our entranceway sign maintenance. In the past most funding of these costs has come from the Hernando Beach Property Owners Association.  Due to the cost of constant waterline repairs, and high water and electric bills it became too much for just one organization.  A mailing went out recently to businesses in the Hernando Beach area asking them to donate money towards our maintenance costs. Our Hernando Beach business people responded and generous contributions were made with almost $3500 raised.  With additional funds provided by HBPOA we are all set for funds to cover maintenance for the current year.

The county has also been asked to help. Parks and Recreation Director Pat Fagan has responded and called to inform us that they will take care of mowing the grass at both locations. Thank you to Hernando County, this is a big help.  And many thanks to all those who have donated funds now and in the past for our entranceway sign projects.

Proposed sign below

New sign are planned for the triangle at Osowaw and shoal Line Blvd. The money is already raised but county requirements are delaying the project. A survey has just been completed. Next engineering drawings are required.
the fear is that all moweny will be used just for this rather than construction of the signs. The 2 sculptures are already purchased and paid for. The entraneway committee headed by melody Merritt is working to achieve this goal.
